Job Description

Qualification: 

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering.

Experience: 

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in a fabrication-based manufacturing company.

Technical Skills:

Key Job Responsibilities: 

  • Strong knowledge of fabrication processes: cutting, fitting, welding, grinding, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Familiar with fabrication machinery and measuring instruments.
  • Knowledge of welding symbols, materials (MS, SS), and quality inspection basics.
  1. Daily Production Management:
  • Supervise and monitor daily fabrication work as per plan.
  • Ensure work progress as per project timelines and work order priorities.
  • Allocate jobs to skilled workers and monitor execution on the shop floor.
    1. Drawing & Job Understanding:
  • Interpret fabrication drawings and explain them to workers.
  • Verify dimensions and tolerances during and after fabrication.
    1. Quality & Process Control:
  • Ensure proper fabrication methods, welding quality, fit-up, and alignment.
  • Raise issues to QC or Design team in case of any technical discrepancies.
  • Follow WPS and welding procedures wherever applicable.
    1. Manpower & Resource Management:
  • Manage fitters, welders, helpers, and outsourced workers.
  • Monitor productivity and identify skill gaps or training needs.
    1. Material Coordination:
  • Coordinate with the store for timely availability of material.
  • Report material shortages, delays, or quality concerns.
    1. Daily Reporting & Documentation:
  • Maintain daily production reports and communicate progress to the planning team.
  • Record rework, downtime, and delays with reasons.
  1. Safety & 5S Implementation:
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed in the fabrication area.
  • Maintain clean and organized workstations through 5S practices.
    1. Team Coordination:
  • Work closely with Design, Planning, QC, Stores, and Dispatch departments.
  • Attend daily production meetings and provide updates.

Preferred: 

  • Experience in pressure vessels, tanks, or process equipment fabrication.
  • Basic MS Office and AutoCAD knowledge is an added advantage.
